20 Years at RGIS: Celebrating Rob Attwool’s Remarkable Journey
Twenty years at RGIS marks a significant milestone for Rob Attwool, Retail Training Specialist (RTS) for the London West area, as he celebrates this incredible anniversary with the company this December. Rob’s journey with RGIS embodies dedication, adaptability, and the lasting impact of strong relationships built over time.
Reflecting on his two-decade career, Rob shared his story with colleagues. “Twenty years ago today, I went for an interview with a company called RGIS Inventory Specialists after my sister saw an advert in the local paper,” Rob recalled. “I needed something that was really flexible, and I had always been good with numbers, so it seemed like the perfect fit. But I was unsure about working on a casual contract.”
It wasn’t until two months later that Rob decided to give RGIS a try. What he initially thought would be a short-term role until his children started school has turned into a 20-year career. “I’m still here and, yes, I’m still on a casual contract, so it can be done,” he remarked. “I’m not saying it was easy—there have been some very quiet periods in that time—but I honestly don’t think I could ever go back to a standard 9-to-5 job.”
Over the years, Rob’s influence on RGIS and its people has been profound. As an RTS, he has hired close to 1,000 people and interviewed nearly 10,000. “I think nearly everyone in Southern England has my number, judging by the amount of calls I get from people looking for work,” he joked. To mark this incredible milestone, Rob has invited his colleagues and former teammates to a celebratory drink on the day he officially joined RGIS.
The impact of Rob’s 20 years at RGIS has not gone unnoticed. Kiran Soni, Managing Director of RGIS UK and Ireland shared his heartfelt gratitude: “We really appreciate all your hard work, the many people you’ve hired, and the positive impact you’ve had on everyone you’ve worked with. Thank you for your dedication and commitment over the years. We’re lucky to have you with us.”
Rob’s story is one of loyalty, perseverance, and community—values that continue to drive RGIS forward. Here’s to Rob’s 20 years at RGIS, to outstanding service and to many more milestones to come.
