Moving Stock and Consumables to New Carousel in Warehouse

A large healthcare provider in Australia, committed to ensuring all customers have access to a range of public healthcare services aimed at achieving good health and well-being, required the support of RGIS. • Move and count selected stock which needed to be transferred into the carousels
  • Provide an accurate stock file for the carousel stock
  • Assign bin numbers for each stock line going into the carousel
  • Bin locations would be pre-labelled on the tubs which stock was going to be placed into before going into the carousel by Queensland Health
  • Stock was assigned to one of two size tubs, each tub would be pre-labelled with unique bin numbers
  • To be completed over two days

SOLUTION

The healthcare provider partnered with RGIS to complete the warehouse carousel stock move and count project and provided the following:

  • Scheduled a team of four experienced RGIS auditors
  • One team of two RGIS auditors were allocated to collect and move stock
  • One team of two RGIS auditors were allocated to count and put stock onto the carousel
  • Captured the stock code, new bin location and quantity
  • Once a shelf of the carousel was full, an empty shelf would be brought down for more tubs to be placed into before going into the carousel

RESULTS

The healthcare provider found that by outsourcing the warehouse carousel stock move and count project to RGIS, the following was achieved:

  • Provided a reliable and accurate output file to load into the new carousel’s stock management system
  • Over 4,500 new bin locations were created
  • Fully populated with stock in the carousel
  • Count and movement of stock was completed within the time frame of two days
