Gaming Store Inventory Counts for Improvement in Stock Accuracy

One of the world’s largest video game retailers required the support of RGIS. The retailer offers games and entertainment products in its more than 4,000 stores and comprehensive e-Commerce properties across 10 countries, with 53,000 employees.
REQUIREMENT
The video game retailer needed a solution to accurately count stock in all stores, so required RGIS to provide the following:
- Count all stock in all stores
- Each store inventory to take no longer than two days
- Accuracy to be a priority
- To have national coverage to complete all stores
SOLUTION
The video game retailer partnered with RGIS to complete the stock accuracy project, and RGIS provided the following:
- Scheduled teams of three to four experienced RGIS auditors depending on the size of the store
- Counted all stock items including:
- Video games
- Accessories including headsets and controllers
- Consoles
- Gaming merchandise
RESULTS
The video game retailer found by outsourcing the stock accuracy project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:
- All stores were successfully counted
- The counts were performed in the late afternoon and evening, so the customer did not suffer economic losses due to the earlier closing of the stores
- Each store completed within four to five hours in one day
- Average of 13,000 pieces counted in each location
- The customer satisfaction was high in all stores, with high accuracy and efficiency levels
